Leyland Warriors U10s 0 -38 Rylands Sharks

A great all-round performance from all 11 Rylands players ? all played a full 40 minutes as they had no substitutes. Oliver Jinks led the way with his strong running in attack and the number of tackles made in defence and was rewarded by being named Man of the Match. Kieran Conneely was awesome in defence and earned the Top Tackler award.

RYLANDS played some attractive rugby going forward and defended strongly to shut Shevington out in the second half. Tries came from player of the match Lewis O'Dea, James Clayton and Allan King. Lewis Charnock was the top tackler on his debut.

Rylands Sharks 14 Folly Lane 22

THIS was a superb game played in good spirit by two committed teams. The try scorers for Rylands were Lewis O'Dea, James Clayton and player of the match Daniel Campbell, who also kicked a goal. Jack Sherratt was Rylands' top tackler and their merit award went to Jack Gleave.

RYLANDS played some attractive rugby in attack but their defence let them down. Allan King impressed, scored a try and was the player of the match. Further tries were touched down by James Clayton, Lewis O'Dea and Daniel Campbell. James Russon was the top tackler and Daniel Lyons won a merit award.

Oldham St. Annes 16 Rylands Sharks 4

The final scoreline does not reflect the effort put in by a gritty and determined Rylands team, whose defence was superb on this heavy pitch, but Oldham scored 2 late tries to secure the victory. An excellent game for spectators & both teams gave 100%.

ALLAN King converted Lewis O'Dea's second try with the last kick of the game to give Rylands a share of the spoils in a superb game of Rugby League. Lewis Charnock also knocked over a goal for Rylands, whose player of the match, top tackler and merit award winner were Lewis Charnock, Daniel Campbell and Bevan Mullineux respectively.

RYLANDS fought until the final whistle despite being dominated by a much stronger Wigan side. The scoreline flattered the visitors while Rylands' points came courtesy of coach's award winner Jack Bloomfield, try, and special award winner Alex Griffiths, goal. Rylands' player of the match was Gregory Stirton and their top tackler was Danielle Bound.

Rylands 24 Leigh MR 48

THIS was a tough encounter in which Leigh MR were made to work hard for their points. Rylands never gave in and they scored tries via player of the match Danielle Bound, three, Andrew Roe and Jack Bloomfield. Goals were added by Andrew and Alex Griffiths while Rylands' top tackler, coach's award winner and special award star were Gregory Stirton, Chris Cotterill and Ryan Fairclough respectively.

RYLANDS tackled hard in this fast free flowing game between two committed sides. The try scorers for Rylands were player of the match Danielle Bound, two, top tackler Alex Griffiths, Michael Newton and Jack Bloomfield. Alex, Andrew Roe and Jack Bloomfield added goals while Rylands' coach's and special award winners were Liam Roan and Owen Jones respectively.

RYLANDS put in a great team effort to claw back from behind. The try scorers for Rylands were coach's award winner Danielle Bound, three, player of the match Alex Griffiths, Tim Mitchell and Liam Ryan. Alex and top tackler Andrew Roe added goals.

RYLANDS put in an excellent performance to keep the score down against a fast Wigan side which normally run rings around them. Andrew Roe scored a try for Rylands and Danielle Bound added a goal. BOTH teams gave nothing away in a very physical game. Rylands defended excellently and they posed Thatto plenty of problems in attack. Their try scorers were player of the match Daniel Lee, Moores, Nickle and Campbell.

Rylands 24 Waterhead 30

POOR defending in the second half cost Rylands dear after they looked to have had the game sewn up by half-time. Rylands' try scorers against a good Waterhead side were B. Moores, two, player of the match Liam Taylor, C. Houghton and D. Lee. Goals were added by Taylor and Lee.

Latchford Albion 26 Rylands 0

BOTH sides were in a determined mood and they refused to give each other an inch. However, Latchford had the edge throughout. They proved to be too strong for Rylands but to their credit the visitors never gave up. Grace Mellor had an excellent game for Latchford on her debut.

Waterhead 26 Rylands Sharks 20

RYLANDS were 22-10 behind at the break but player of the match Walsh completed his hat-trick and Campbell darted over from a quick play-the-ball to leave them only six points adrift at the final whistle. Goals were added by L. Taylor, two.

Burtonwood 10 Rylands Sharks 16

RYLANDS ran out worthy winners against a good Burtonwood side. They were in top form in defence with strong tackling from Cartledge, Moores, Lee and Campbell giving them the upper hand. Rylands' tries were scored by J. Cartledge, L. Walsh and D. Lee. Their player of the match was Jordan Cartledge.

RYLANDS defended superbly against an enthusiastic New Spring side. Player of the match Jordan Cartledge, Moores and Lee were impressive in defence. Rylands' try scorers were Cartledge, Lee, Richardson, Moores and Campbell.

RYLANDS overcame a spirited Leigh East side with nine different players crossing the line. Danny Oakes led the way with three, while Matt Lomax, two, Lewis Bennett, two, Joe Moore, Jack Reid, Sam Brinksman, Jordan Rawes, Joel Harrigan and Ste White also crossed. Matt Goss, Tom Lee, John Leicester and Jack Cowell-McQuillan worked well in defence.

EXCELLENT teamwork in poor conditions enabled Rylands top get the better of a spirited Burtonwood side in this 'derby' clash. Man of the match Jack Reid scored a hat-trick while Joel Harrigan, two, Liam Walsh, two, Sam Brinksman, Joe Moore and Matt Hayes also crossed. RYLANDS progressed to the next round of the NW Counties Knockout Cup with a good win over an improving Burtonwood side. Player of the match Tom Lee scored the try of the game, sending the defence the wrong way with a fine dummy, then racing 20 metres to the line. EXCELLENT teamwork saw Rylands progress to the next round of the North West Counties cup in a nail-biting clash. Joe Moore scored Rylands' first try, bursting through on the halfway line straight from a restart. Jack Cowell-McQuillan scored the try of the match, squeezing in at the corner after the ball had passed through seven pairs of hands. Rylands were held up over the line twice in extra time before Joel Harrigan crashed over to clinch victory.

With the game finely balanced, it was not until the final play the ball that St. Judes scored a converted try to make this highly entertaining game safe.
